The Pulse of Rhythm!

Steffen Hanschmann started playing drums at a young age. He later studied with Ricardo Espinosa, John Santos, Conny Sommer, and Banana (Timbalada). During his studies in Ghana and Senegal, he deepened his knowledge of West African percussion. He has been a percussionist for Max Herre, Die Fantastischen Vier, Silly Walks, and others.

 

In addition to his experience with Flamenco, he has focused on Afro-Cuban and Brazilian rhythms during his many years of work. He has been giving concerts since he was 14 years old. He has traveled nationally and internationally with various ensembles.

Since 2023, he has been bringing his experience and passion to the music of AwA.
